Mrs. Mack has an in-class library, of which donations are always accepted and appreciated. The freshman class is in charge of organizing the library. Also, as brilliant :-) as Mrs. Mack may seem, she has not read EVERY book in the world, neither has she read every book she's purchased or been given. Thus, if you are not satisfied with your book, or your child's book, I encourage you to put it back and get a new one. Independent reading contract. See file below.

Room Expectations with Gradebook
These will be some of the expectations or procedures for my grading the 2012-13 school year:
· Assignments will be based in points, rather than percentages
· Assignments that are done daily will be small points, like 5 for a pop quiz or 10 for an Article of the Week
· Assignments that are spread over many weeks are much like a test grade, 100 points
· Small point assignments will not be accepted late
· Large point assignments will be received late (if need be)—10 points deducted each day late
· Due to many parents and students desire, I collect student work once a week, usually on Fridays. Students will sign in their work on a sign-in sheet.
· EXCEPTION to late work: There are students that receive extra time for work because of IEPs or 504 plans. These students will receive the allotted time before receiving a zero.
· EXCEPTION to late work: If a student is absent, s/he will have an extra day to make up that missing work.
· EXCEPTION to late work: There are times when a student will come to me and NOT understand an assignment and ask for an extension. I will give more time based on this.
· I want students to learn. I encourage students to revise their work as many times as they need to ‘get it right.’ Yes, students may do over and yes, they can get a better grade.
I usually grade work on the weekends, so if a student is missing work I will email or call the student and parent. I always encourage parents and students to check PowerSchool and my website
